So far, Cardiff City have only made one signing. That man is 20 year old Denmark international Andreas Cornelius who signed from FC Copenhagen for a club record fee of £7.5m.
Thomas Ince of Blackpool FC is very close to finalising a move to the Welsh Capital after Cardiff City look to have fended off interest from a host of fellow Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle United. Ince is said to have verbally agreed personal terms of around £35,000 per week, potentially making him Cardiff’s joint highest paid player along with Craig Bellamy. Ince is set to meet with Malky Mackay this weekend to finalise his move to the Welsh capital. The Cardiff manager told TalkSport:
“Thomas has been on holiday… it won’t be long until we get the chance to sit down with him and his family,” Mackay said.
“He’s a very exciting young talent in the game at the moment.”
The Scott has also revealed he is eager to push the move forward.
Another name constantly linked with Cardiff City is Celtic man’s Victor Wanyama. Cardiff City are still in the chase for him, but no progress has been made since we posted this tweet:
Cardiff City are also keen on French left-back Benjamin Mendy and could yet challenge Sunderland for the teenager. Mendy’s club, Le Havre, have accepted an offer from Sunderland, but personal terms have not yet been agreed. Malky Mackay would love to add French youth international Mendy, 18, to his squad for the 2013-14 Barclay’s Premier League season.
Oscar Cardozo will not be moving to Cardiff City.
